Some of you may recall that, like, two years ago? I wrote a short story called “Store-crossed” that took place in the early days of the Exponential Apocalypse universe. Well, get ready to change those quotation marks into italics, because Store-crossed is now a full-fledged novella.*
A quick refresher: Store-crossed is a post-apocalyptic Romeo & Juliet with monsters and jokes. And, for the first time, it’s YA. That’s right, this book is suitable for ages twelve and up.
The idea for Store-crossed is one I’d been kicking around for a good chunk of time, and while I liked the story as it was previously released, there was this nagging doubt that maybe it wasn’t as fully fleshed out as it could be. And, unlike the Exponential Apocalypse books, it probably didn’t need all the cussing. So, thanks to the miracle of independent publishing, I fixed it. The plot’s still the same, but the story doesn’t feel as rushed and spare anymore.
